Playing Up in the 12u State Tournament

2nd Place - 12u Super Series State Championship Consolation, Jun 2011
Lights Out 11u played in the Super Series 12u State Tournament this past weekend in Round Rock.  We have our upcoming 11u American State Tournament this weekend in Brenham, so we wanted our boys to get used to a higher level of play and especially faster pitches.  We just couldn't get into a rhythm on Saturday and lost both games that day.

On Sunday morning, at 8am, our boys came back with a vengeance to beat the Georgetown Monsters who beat us on Saturday.  These boys showed their heart and their determination by continuing to win 3 more games, one being against the XS So Tx Marshals, to make it to the Championship game in the Consolation bracket on Sunday night at 8pm against the San Antonio Shox - Coach Jose's other team.  It was fun, interesting, and exciting to play against the team we practice with - with Coach Jose being the coach of both of our teams.  We were not successful, however, as we had no pitchers left.  But we are proud of these boys, nonetheless, for fighting so hard on Sunday and making it through 5 games in 12 hours in 100 degree heat.

Our boys were tired, sunburned, bruised, hot, and "pitched out." These 11u boys came in 16th place out of 41 12u teams.  But they held their heads high for competing harder and getting father than a lot of other 12u teams did.  We couldn't be prouder of you boys!!!  Way to go!!
